Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa Gets a New Course Rating at Its 18-Hole Denis Griffiths Championship Course

Guests can now enjoy a new fifth set of tees, and a new course rating at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa's Championship Denis Griffiths designed Golf Course. The addition of a fifth set of tees provides an exceptional golf experience for golfers of all levels of abilities. There are now four sets of tees rated for men starting at 5307 yards and stretching out to just over 7000 yards, and three sets of tees rated for women, providing more levels of golf then most other courses offer.

Course Ratings and Slope Ratings are determined by a USGA Course Rating and USGA Slope Rating for each set of tees. The rating established for the scratch golfer is known as the Course Rating. The Slope Rating is an evaluation of the relative difficulty of a course for players other than scratch. The USGA Course and Slope ratings are then calculated and certified by the authorized golf associations before they are issued to the club. These ratings are vital in calculating a person's handicap for that particular course.

Steven Phelps, PGA, Director of Golf, Brasstown Valley Resort says, "The new course rating is important because it helps golfers understand the proper set of tees to play for the slope and yardage. By selecting the right tees golfers can experience a more enjoyable round of golf,"
added Phelps.

Golf Packages are available from $264 per night for double occupancy. Sunday through Thursday night stays include a traditional Lodge guest room; unlimited greens and cart fees; and use of the driving and practice ranges. For Friday and Saturday stays the Golf Package includes a traditional Lodge guest room; one round of golf (additional rounds may be added at $25 per round); a golf cart and unlimited use of the driving and practice ranges.

Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa is dedicated to the traditional golf experience, combining outstanding course conditions with the service levels you'd expect from a resort. Beautiful in all seasons the course winds through wildlife preserves, ponds and streams framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.
