One of America's finest private golf clubs, The Ford Plantation does not require tee times-members play whenever they wish. The course is challenging and plays from "executive length" short to "pro length" long, and rewards for accuracy and shot-making. And, the surrounding scenery is extraordinary-naturally beautiful with frequent sightings of bald eagles, osprey, and fox.

Famed architect Pete Dye was given an unlimited budget and a free hand to design a championship golf course for a private owner in the mid-1980s. Thirty years later he was invited by the club members to return and remake a masterpiece. His finished work was unveiled in October 2014.

Today, signature Dye elements abound, with long-views and risk-reward scenarios seemingly around every bend. The parkland front nine has been widened and offers both playable angles and daunting targets. The back nine, raised from the rice-field marshes, features sweeping, panoramic views in an exquisite Scottish-links style.
